In 1996 I obtained a free e-mail address from an organisation called “Digitale Metropool Antwerpen” (DMA). At that time they were the only organisation in Belgium offering free webspace & a customised URL. You received 750kb. Which was cool, back then.

A couple of years later, the internet service provider Yucom acquires all user accounts of DMA.

It’s 2001. Tiscali acquires Yucom.

Scarlet acquires Tiscali. November 2004.

And now, 2008, Belgacom acquires Scarlet.

Twelve (12! years have passed). My original e-mail address has changed four times from provider. Does Belgacom know they bought a share of the old DMA users? Do they even know that some users from 1996 are still active? Hello?!
